Tour Day 1: Arrival and Introduction to the Tropical Rainforest Tambopata

Upon your arrival at the airport or bus station, our team will greet you and provide a transfer to our main office. Afterward, we will head to the port on the Madre de Dios River to embark on a scenic boat trip to our eco-lodge.

Once you arrive, you will receive a welcome reception with fresh exotic fruit juice. After a short rest, we will explore the jungle pathways. During this walk, you will see ancient trees and diverse wildlife, such as toucans and monkeys. Finally, at night, we embark on a boat safari to find caimans and capybaras under the starlight.

Tour Day 2: Journey to the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick – Tambopata

We start the day at 5:30 am to visit the canopy platforms. From this height, you can observe eagles and parrots in their natural habitat. Following breakfast, we navigate the Tambopata River for five hours toward the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick.

During the trip, you can enjoy a picnic while spotting jaguars or tapirs on the riverbanks. Subsequently, we will set up our campsite in the heart of the reserve. To conclude the evening, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and share jungle stories around the campfire.

Tour Day 3: Wildlife Spectacle and Monkey Island – Tambopata Rainforest

At dawn, we head to the Macaw Clay Lick, where hundreds of colorful birbods congregate to eat mineral-rich clay. This is one of the most incredible wildlife sights in the Amazon rainforest. After this experience, we begin our return trip to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will visit “Monkey Island.” Moreover, you will observe how different species interact in this protected environment. Later, we return to the Sandoval Mejia Lodge to enjoy a comfortable night.

Tour Day 4: Exploring the Iconic Sandoval Lake

Afterwards, we enjoy a delicious lunch before heading to a 27-meter-high canopy tower. This experience allows you to walk across a 89-meter long suspension bridge at the top of the jungle canopy. In addition to the breathtaking views, you will feel the adrenaline of flying over the trees on a 190-meter zipline.

Subsequently, we travel by motorized boat to the entrance of the Sandoval Lake reserve. After a one-hour hike through the jungle, we arrive at Maloka Sandoval Lodge. To conclude the day, we will enjoy dinner and search for caimans along the lakeshore under the moonlight.

Tour Day 2: Macaw Palm Lick & Deep Jungle Exploration

We begin the day very early to visit the Macaw Palm Lick. This unique site is where various species of macaws and parrots gather to eat dead palm bark, which is rich in essential minerals for their digestion.

Following this, we return to the lodge for breakfast. Next, we go on an educational trek to observe the local flora and search for mammals such as monkeys, sloths, and anteaters. Later in the afternoon, you will have the chance to swim in the refreshing waters of the lake safely.
